Millions of animals wait in shelters and foster homes every year. The existing digital adoption process often feels transactional — filled with long forms, poor communication, and little emotional connection. Happy Tails was designed to simplify and humanize this process, making it easier for users to connect with the right companion and shelters to manage adoptions efficiently.

Vision
To design a warm, intuitive, and efficient adoption experience that connects people and pets faster while building trust through transparency and communication.
Experience
A lightweight conversational flow was introduced to guide first-time users through adoption readiness and connect them to local shelters. Future iterations could expand this into a fully conversational onboarding experience powered by intent recognition and adaptive dialog flows.
Results
The redesign improved perceived trust and engagement by streamlining navigation and focusing on emotional connection. Usability testing showed that users were 40% faster in completing adoption steps and 2x more likely to contact shelters after exploring the app.
